After the success of the Norton Commando 961SE, Norton introduced two variations, the standard version Commander 961 Sport and the Commander 961 Café Racer.
Features new engine developed by Norton and F1 engine builders, MCT of Oxfordshire, England. Parallel twin with push-rod valve actuation, dry sump, 3 bearing crank and balancer shaft.
The air-cooled 961cc parallel twin engine with push-rod valve actuation has a claimed power output of 80hp at 6,500 rpm and 90Nm. of torque at 5,200 rpm. Rear suspension is provided by Ohlins reservoir-style twin shocks, adjustable ride height, front suspension by 43mm Ohlins RWU, while full Brembo system brakes provide stopping power.
